Evening Prayer is held each Summer Sunday at St. Mark’s, King’s Landing, at 3 PM. You may enter the site through the King’s Head Inn entrance, or with the officiant at the Main Entrance.

✓ Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers at 1st St. Margaret’s - Children and youth from the congregation are invited to join the Beaver, Cub, Scout and Venturer sections of 1st St. Margaret’s Scouting.
The Beaver Scouts are boys and girls from Kindergarten to Grade 2 and, for the coming year, will meet in the Forest Hill United Church on Kimble Court on Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:15 PM. (Contact leader: David Rayworth at 206-1801)
Cub Scouts are girls and boys in grades 3 to 5 and will be meeting in the Forest Hill School on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. (Contact leader: Roger Kirkpatrick at 450-1955)
Scouts are boys and girls in grades 6 to 9 and meet in the Cathedral Memorial Hall on Church Street on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. (Contact leader: Stacey Morash at 457-1968)
Venturer Scouts are male and female youth in grades 9 to 12 and they will meet in the Cathedral Memorial Hall on Church Street on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm. (Contact leader: Jim Harvey at 450-9655)
Youth can start in any section at any time. No experience in an earlier section is needed to start in a later one.
Registration night for the St. Margaret’s Scouting programs is Monday, September 13, at the church between 7:00 and 8:00 PM. First Venturer meeting will be on September 14 and the other sections will start meeting on September 15. Registration fees can also be paid at regular section meetings. ✓ The annual Memorial Evening Prayer Service at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Lower Saint Mary’s will take place on Sunday, September 12, at 3 PM. The Ven. Patricia Drummond will officiate. For further information, please call 472-6646.

✓ The Rev. Dr. Charles (Chuck) Owens of the Diocese of South Carolina, the man Bishop Edward Salmon calls “my right hand man in congregational development,” will lead a weekend conference and workshop on the topic at St. Mary and St. Bartholomew’s Church in Saint John on Oct. 29 and 30. The conference features a breakfast for clergy and a leadership luncheon on both days. The teaching workshops will focus on the role of clergy and lay leadership in congregational development. The conference services at St. Mary and St. Bartholomew’s are free, however, advance registration is required and a free will offering will be received. Registration deadline is Friday Oct. 22.
